Goal: 

Create a site to promote the Lawrence GiveBack's mission to support local businesses and benefit local charities. 

Summary: 

The Philsquare team was very excited to be a part of the redesign and launch of the Lawrence GiveBack website. This great community project gives users a chance to give to their favorite charitable organization and earn a little bit back themselves as a part of their everyday local spending. 

Constance Wolfe and the the Lawrence GiveBack team needed the ability to update the site with Lawrence Giveback news and easily add new merchant and charity information to the site directory. Ms. Wolfe requested the site to be built using WordPress, a popular content management tool for websites and blogs and the Philsquare team agreed this was the path to take.

The Philsquare team developed and designed a completely unique WordPress theme for the Lawrence GiveBack site. The custom theme’s design allows visitors to search for merchants by categories and view very specific information about the local businesses participating in Lawrence GiveBack. Another page allows users to view information about the charitable organizations the program benefits. 

In addition to the traditional administration panels for page and post creation (for news items and blog posts), Philsquare built two unique panels that provide easy addition of new merchant and charity information. This allows Constance and her team to enter merchant information quickly and on their schedule. The custom form includes a place for Twitter and Foursquare accounts, Lawrence Journal World Marketplace and Facebook pages, email addresses, physical addresses, merchant logos and additional information. It takes just minutes to add new merchant and charity information to the site.

Constance Wolf of Lawrence GiveBack said they will “be able to post information and events about our program and events that effect our community on our timeframe” with the new site structure and design.
